It's the month of May already it is almost summer! The beginning of the year I said I wanted to make lots of dresses for the summer and that is what I'm going to try to do for this month. The challenge is to make six dresses. It is very ambitious of me, but if I try my best and cheat with some clothing transformations, I should be able to make it. Do you have a sewing challenge for this month?
This weekend I want to focus on drawing and making patterns that's why I posted the lasted video yesterday, if you haven't seen it yet you can watch the tutorial here. Below you can see the inspiration photos that I quickly pulled from Pinterest that I had in my boards for quite some time. Hopefully, you will able to get some inspiration from these photos too. Here are the ideas:
Romantic dresses the type of dresses I want to make. It needs to be oversized and flowy for those times you want to look cute and comfortable at the same time.
Off the shoulder I'm a big fan of off the shoulder, but at the same time, I don't like my shoulders. Is there a way to reduce shoulders?! Lol.
Ruffles to add more the romantic vibe into the dresses.
Puffy sleeves have made a huge comeback this year. Get ready for superrrr big puffy sleeves
Square neckline also one of the spring/summer trend of 2019. This neckline is sooo feminine! It's been a while I made a square neckline.
Double balloon sleeves these are the type of sleeved that I want to make for some time.
Spaghetti straps I like how thin straps look on others but again my shoulders, lol.
Lace/Sheer/applique fabrics Gosh, I want to buy fabric so badly because of my other challenge. I will try to use the sheer fabrics that I have.
Button closure As much as I love the look of button details, I just don't have the patience for this, so this one is a maybe.
Bra cups not sure yet.
These are all the features I want to add in my designs, the next process is drawing. Btw, I've been slacking again, but that is no surprise to me. I was practicing here and there a couple weeks ago, but that's about it. Also, If you don't see an Instagram post of my drawing(s) this weekend, that means I haven't drawn anything. I will also try to post more drawing videos on my Youtube channel.
